Keychron K4 QMK Wireless Mechanical Keyboard (Version 3)

I purchased the K4 V3 over a V2 per the instructions on the V2 purchase page. I was extremely excited to see that this model had black keys, white LED hot-swappable switches, and shine-through keycaps. It seemed perfect. Two days after receiving the keyboard, multiple keys started to fail. At first, the "L" key started not registering except at random. Then the "K" switch started typing multiplle (<-ok, see that typo on multiple with 2 "L"'s? That was the keyboard and I'm not fixing it for the review) letters every so often. I thought, well, maybe it's just those two switches and I'll swap them with something I won't use like "pgup" and "pgdn". Then, moments ago, the "O" key started doing multiple key presses. Support still has not gotten back to me even though I've reached out when the first couple keys started failing.

I recently bought a K4 version 2 and then hours later I found out that the version 3 was released. It had only been out for a few days at the time of ordering the version 2. I usually don't do reviews but I thought it would be worth doing one once this keyboard came in. Shipping was really fast to the US. The estimated arrival time was originally 7 days but it came in a shorter amount of time even through the customs process. Compared to the v2, It feels and sounds way better! I ordered the Aluminum Frame with Non-Swappable Red-switches. Compared to the version 2 it sounds a lot quieter, of which that I can bring it to work without bothering my fellow co-workers. The V2 sounded a lot more clacky while the V3 feels and sounds thocky and creamy. I would definitely order another one but I would want to try a Hot-Swappable version with the Quiet Red Switches (I just didn't want to drop the money and the time to do the change at this moment). Doubleshot PBT keycaps are a must for me now, the feel and sound vs the ABS caps vs the v2 just don't compare and I feel like this was well worth the cost since I didn't need to purchase a seperate set of them. The performance feels about the same in terms of bluetooth connectivity, it still takes a awhile to wake from sleep but it really doesn't bother me since so far its only when I have idled for more than 10 minutes. The heavy aluminum frame is great and it feels sturdy. The legs are plastic but they feel pretty strong (compared to my Ducky Mecha keyboard which is full aluminum and satisfying) but I think it will last since it will only be staying in one location really. I think a case would be worth investing if I wanted to do some light traveling to keep the legs together. Overall I feel very satisfied with my 1st Keychron purchase and will try to update my review later for user experience.
