Keychron K10 Pro QMK/VIA Wireless Mechanical Keyboard

I'm coming from a Logitech MX Mechanical keyboard with linear switches. I like the Keychron K10 Pro with tactile quiet (brown) switches better in almost every respect, although I've only been using it for a couple of days; it's far more sold-feeling, the keycaps are much better quality (the Logitech caps turned shiny almost instantly), the typing experience and sound are outstanding, I love the ability to replace keycaps and switches easily, and the programmability through VIA is amazing by comparison. And as a Mac user, I love that the keycaps installed by default are for MacOS, with Windows keys provided in a bag as the exception; I get tired of so much Windows-centricity among accessory vendors, and it's refreshing (to me at least).

I only have a couple of relatively minor quibbles. I expected the tactile feel to be a little more pronounced; I can feel some difference compared to the Logitech linear switches, but really not that much. I was thinking about the old IBM PC keyboards I remember from the 80s, but again, that's minor and I like the typing experience very much. Compared to my previous low-profile keyboard, the additional key travel takes some getting used to, but that won't take long. I'll experiment with other key types and see if anything else works better for me - which is something I couldn't do with my Logitech board. I think I'll use the number pad for experimentation until I settle on what I want in the end.

The only other minor complaint I have so far is that battery status can't be shown in MacOS when I'm using the K10 Pro in Bluetooth mode. That was one thing Logitech did well; I could see battery level at a glance in a batter widget on my desktop. It's not a show-stopper, obviously; I can always check using fn-b, but if Logitech can do it, Keychron should be able to as well, it seems to me.

Bottom line - I'm very pleased with the K10 Pro so far, and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solidly-built, customizable, programmable mechanical keyboard.

For those who want something more affordable, I suggest the Keychron K10. Right out of the box, this full-size mechanical keyboard feels and sounds good to type on, offering a superb typing experience. It pairs with up to three devices at once and contains a USB receiver in addition to Bluetooth connectivity. Its battery life ranges from 70 to 240 hours, depending on your backlighting settings. Although I can use it wired while it charges, I won't need to do so very often.

All of the Keychron K Series models are excellent options, but I especially like the full-size model in this case. Wireless mechanical keyboards in all configurations are available in this series, ranging from the TenKeyLess Keychron K8 to the small, low-profile Keychron K7.

I'll look for a size and design that work best with your configuration. Toggling between Windows and macOS is possible using the compatibility toggle located on top of every Keychron board. If I frequently transfer between systems, I won't have to worry about remembering where the modifier keys are because they come with extra system-specific keycaps.

I like the weight. I went with the browns as I wanted a little more resistance than the reds as I often rest my fingers on the board while I'm not typing and found with reds the weight of my fingers is often enough press the key and start spamming a text input or messing up my vim document somehow. The browns are still pretty quiet, especially compared to the blues on the my previous Logitech keyboard.

I like that num lock and caps lock have a LED toggle when activates but if I modify the keys to include a scroll lock (which I use somewhat frequently) I do not see an obvious wait to emulate the same behaviour. This may just be a VIA thing Keychron can't control but just something to be aware of since this keyboard does not have a scroll lock by default.

My only real complaints are that I wish the extra key for function was on the left hand side. It makes it awkward mapping layer keys to the Fn 13-19 keys. Definitely do not bind the FN19 key to anything like locking your computer without some form of modifier as you will be randomly locking your PC when you use minus key on the numpad.

Introduce me to a creator from Indonesia. and I was very enthusiastic about the Keychron K10 Pro mechanical keyboard.
Previously, there were lots of keyboard choices scattered on the marketplace.
After 1 month of comparing this and that keyboard brand, I finally fell in love with this keyboard series.
Apart from the sound of the brown switches, I also like the design.
It turned out that after the goods arrived, the first impression was beyond my expectations, sturdy weight, neat finishing, stable connection and very usable on a MAC system.
and that proves that I didn't make a mistake in choosing this K10 keyboard for daily use.

I can’t believe the quality and feel. I’m a work from home office worker always typing for work. This was worth every penny for the improved feel. I do a little gaming but mostly productivity.

What’s great:
- I love the weight and keyfeel. I got the brown switches. I didn’t know a keyboard could be like this.
- Detachable cable is nice so I can use wireless
- Battery life
- Keycap material and feel

What could be better:
- I’d prefer a dedicated media volume or scrolling wheel
- I wish the key caps were a little see through so I could type in the dark and see the keys
