This firmware allows users to lock current light effect and switch F1-F12 between Multimedia and standard functioning.
Note: If everything works fine with your keyboard. Please don’t update the firmware. There is a chance it can damage your keyboard.
WARNING: ONLY FOR Keychron K1 VERSION 1 USERS
We had received a lot of requests from Keychron K1 V1 users to get a firmware for light key lock and we’ve finally answered that request. We want to try out a beta version and have a group of beta testers before officially launching it to our whole audience.
Two key changes with this firmware will be:
- Use FN + D + C to lock the light key to inhibit automatic color changes. If you want to resume the color changes, press FN + the light key.
- Use FN + X + L if you want to switch between multimedia and standard use of the F1-F12 keys without having to press the FN key.
In order to make sure that you DO NOT have any issues, please follow these instructions correctly:
- Download the firmware only if you are a Windows OS user or have access to a Windows PC/device.
- Download the correct firmware for your layout, otherwise, it can break your keyboard.
- Make sure your toggle is switched to Win/Android mode only.
- Make sure your keyboard is connected to the PC with the cable that came with the box only.
- Confirm that only the Keychron keyboard is connected to the PC. If not, it might flash the firmware of other keyboards.
PS. We just have this firmware for Windows OS. If you are a Mac user, but still want to be a part of this beta testing, you can try to install the firmware with a Windows OS first. After it has been installed, then you can try it out with a Mac OS.

- Download the correct firmware for your layout (White Backlight/ RGB Backlight ), otherwise, it can break your keyboard.
- Make sure your toggle is switched to Win/Android mode only.
- Make sure your keyboard is connected to the PC with the cable that came with the box only.
- Confirm that only the Keychron keyboard is connected to the PC. If not, it might flash the firmware of other keyboards.
- Now, you can start running the exe file.
- After flashing the new firmware, hold Fn + Z + J together for 4 seconds to do the factory reset. You are now good to go.
