Keychron M3 Wireless Mouse

The Keychron M3 is a light and fast mouse. It looks cool and feels comfortable in my hands. The downside of it is its quality, price, and some bugs. The RGB light and the left and right buttons sometimes crack open. My USB-C 2.4G receiver also fell apart. When I connect my mouse to the Mac software, the lights at the bottom will not light up until I factory set it. But the most important part is that I cannot drag-click or do other speed clicks on this mouse even if I set the debounce time to 0. The left and right buttons also require some force to press down, so it is not ideal for butterfly clicking.

This is for an initial Linux experience (mint mate). The basics of the mouse and the connections work out of the box, so you can refer to other comments for those. That part works great, hence the "more than one star" review (let's see if it stays up). If you're not using Linux, this review is not for you.

The customization software for the extra buttons and the RGB works only for win and mac. Yes, I can run a virtual machine and do things, or boot into win or connect it to my macbook and change things, but... not after I paid $50. Not worth it. I was an idiot and thought something like VIA would exist, and I bought this without doing proper research. Don't be an idiot like me and buy this mouse if you're on Linux.

Also, I bought this on Amazon, with the "20% off back-to-school promotion!" that I got as a promotion e-mail because I have a keychron keyboard. So I bought this, with 20% off...at the same normal price on this website! I have prime so I didn't pay for shipping, so that's different, but I'm PAYING for prime. Of course I won't pay for shipping on items noted as included in prime. Amazon prices for Keychron is substantially more than the website prices, but they do include themselves in the prime program, which is very shady. If you're shady here, Keychron, what else have you done?

So I was an idiot for buying this mouse--that's kinda sorta on me, and I was an idiot for falling for the promotion, which is on Keychron.

I'll be returning the mouse. Well there's that at least with my prime.

I got this for work so I use it 8-10hrs a day. Im using the wireless dongle it came with for the best sampling rates and it's very smooth. The battery seems to last quite a few days and sleep mode seems to not drain the battery since it I can leave it for a week and its still charged up. I do wish there was a battery indicator for MacOS but it at least turns read when the battery is low.

It feels good in the hand and is weighted perfectly for me, especially with the weight at the bottom.

I really like the matte body and the fact that the finger rests for the thumb/pinkie are textured plastic instead of stickers or painted-on since they won't degrade over time but the inward slope on the right side is a little uncomfortable on my pinkie.

The rgb behaves well and can be turned off without any software which is very important for me since I'm on Linux.

The battery life seems pretty good.
The usb cable would be very good even if the mouse was wired but the long connector and the fact that the port on the mouse is not recessed enough means that it's a bit uncomfortable using it while it's plugged in.

My only real issue is possibly with the sensor which doesn't seem to work on some surfaces that none of my numerous previous mice had any trouble with, resulting in choppy/laggy cursor movement - I verified this by using a piece of cardboard under the mouse which seems to work very well.
